A little girl has narrated to the police how her mother’s boss, a tailor, raped her in his shop after he called her to come and watch a film at night.
The girl, identified as Khadijat Musa, told the police: “He (Abubakar) called me to come and watch a film in the night, closed the door, asked me to remove my pant; he climbed me; I screamed. He used his hands to cover my mouth and told me not to tell my mummy.”
The girl’s parents said they found their daughter bleeding. After her father, Malam Musa, threatened his daughter that there would be no Salah clothes for her unless she told him what happened to her, the little girl revealed to her father that Abubakar Ismaila raped her in the night when watching a film.
Detectives attached to the Gawu-Babangida Police Station, under the Suleja Area Command, have promptly arrested Ismaila over the allegation of rape. Indeed, Ismaila has reportedly confessed to the offence, but said he did it to the girl only once.
Malam Musa, the girl’s father, told our correspondent that the suspect’s shop is where his wife was learning how to make clothes as an apprentice tailor. The shop he had been occupying, which belongs to them, had been free of charge to him for years, since he had been living with them.
“We have been living like together like a family; my wife feeds him always and there are a lot of women who are working with him as apprentices. Why will my little daughter interest him, a father of three children and a Muslim, at a time when people are observing their fasting?” Malam Musa lamented.
