The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), kogi state council said it has concluded plans to induct , governor Yahaya Bello as its grand patron for his contribution to the growth of the council. This is part of the one week long activities marking the NUJ press week.
According to Abuh ,some of the activities to mark this year' s press week include , a day set for the members of the National Assembly from the state to showcase their stewardship while the speaker of the state House of Assembly Hon.Umar Imam will take his turn to discuss the prospect and challenges facing the House under his leadership.
In the same vein, there would be workshops , physical fitness walk , blood donation and public lecture to spike the event.
" The weeklong event would climaxed with the launching of a special publication, titled ; "New Direction" which detailed the sectorial achievement of the present administration.
"We will also give recognition to some distinguished individuals in their chosen fields as a mark of honour to spur others to contribute their quota to the development of the state. ".the statement added
While calling on all kogi sons and daughters to join hands to build a state of the peoples dreams, Abuh said the event will hold at Reverton Hotels, Lokoja from 22nd November to29th November 2016.
He urged advertisers and well wishers to send in their congratulatory messages in the New Direction Magazine which it described as a reference for archival materials for posterity.
