Financial crises have crippled the activities of kogi government aftermath of the controversial victory at the apex court as contracts awarded at the state executive meeting had no cash backing
The government has however devised a systematic devise to continue to roll out contracts without mobilisation to site but only to impress on the public as a performing government
Aside over bloated and needles renovations hurriedly embarked upon running into millions of naira in the seat of government and some offices within and outside the state, contracts for road rehabilitation from Idah to umomi remains a mirage as well as that of the governors village
Another sources confirmed on the fact that the government has spent so much on marabouts, prayer warriors and falling prey of fraudsters which prominent role and desperate moves was to attain victory at all the levels of the litigation
The situation is so critical that civil servants are only been screened without any assurance of payment of their salaries hence buying time to access the federal allocation that have dwindled for quite some months
Several obligations and financial commitment hurriedly created to leave huge liabilities for the unforseen circumstances have bounced back on the government as deductions from the proceeding have commenced in earnest
The office of the Accountant general have been mandated by government to enter into short term and long term agreement to source for funds to offset some of its basic obligations without response from the financial institutions
Another source eavesdroped that government is planning to renege on its earlier decisions to engage consultants to ascertain the level of progress on the projects embarked by the immediate past administration to enable it assess the balance of the bond with the impression that the projects are still running
It will be recalled that over 7 billion kogi funds was committed to the three levels of the court that passed judgement in favour of the present administration since january till September this year
Kogi government has blatantly refused to account for the 10 Billion naira infrastructure funds,20 billion naira bailout funds, other special funds and the internally generated revenue rejigged as taunted by this administration
With the gloomy situation, state workers are expected to celebrate once again this year christmas and new year fast approaching in a precarious atmosphere owing to non payment of salaries to workers and pensioners
