The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dismissed reports that it cannot fly the Super Eagles to Zambia for the 2018 World Cup qualifies due to paucity of fund, insisting it has concluded arrangements to fly the team to Zambia for the game, notwithstanding its current financial challenges.
But the federation yesterday rubbished the reports, saying that although it is facing some financial constraints, it has the ability to finance the World Cup fixture against Zambia in Ndola on October 9.
According to an official statement, the NFF said they condemn “in very strong terms” a report in some media that they cannot fly the Super Eagles to a World Cup qualifying match in Ndola on Sunday, 9th October 2016.
While admitting financial challenges as a result of the current state of the economy, the NFF expressed solid faith that matters would never get to the point of Nigeria being unable to get a national team to the venue of a competitive match or championship.
The NFF yesterday assured Nigerians that it had concluded arrangements on getting players and officials of the Super Eagles to Abuja for a training camp starting on Sunday, 2nd October, getting the team to and from Zambia and getting the players back to their various Clubs after the national assignment.
